Steps to Excellence features six workshops:

Senior leaders constantly seek the answer to a fundamental question:

What must we be better at to succeed and grow?

If they're not sure, Steps to Excellence can help them find out.

If they know, Steps to Excellence can help them align people, processes, and performance with their goals.

Through Steps to Excellence, leaders and upper-level managers participate in:

  • A series of workshops built on the Baldrige model,
  • Presenting the best practices of world-class companies and the current thinking of management experts,
  • Customized for your organization's needs, and
  • Combining sound management theory with proven approaches that participants can implement immediately.

The Steps to Excellence workshops present the knowledge and skills that leaders at all levels of small and mid-sized organizations need to reach their goals. Participants from manufacturing, service, education, health care, non-profit, and government organizations can benefit from this systems perspective of how an organization works, the levers that make rapid and lasting change possible, and the impact of initiatives in one area on the total system.

The workshops promote involvement through individual and group exercises, discussions of topical issues and problems organizations encounter, and an open invitation to ask questions. To make the workshops more timely and relevant, participants are encouraged to bring up specific issues they are facing in their organizations.

At the conclusion of the workshop series participants will have extensive knowledge about and understanding of their entire management system, its current condition and what areas most need improvement, how to begin making those improvements, and how the areas covered by all six workshops link to produce a high-performing organization. All leaders and managers can benefit from this systems perspective. It will enable participants to manage their whole organization and all of its components to achieve performance excellence.
