Organizational Performance Review
and Alignment Matrix
When we conduct assessments of organizations (even those
that have already won the Baldrige Award or equivalent awards
worldwide), we always find embarrassing gaps in the alignment
of their strategies, action plans, goals, key performance
measures, key process measures, key data reviewed, etc. To
this end, we developed a simple tool (Organizational Performance
Review and Alignment Matrix) that visually highlights these
alignment gaps and facilitates the actions needed to achieve
full alignment of an organization's actions, processes and
data with its business purpose. All matrix content is taken
directly from the Baldrige Criteria requirements.
We initially developed our Organizational Performance Review
and Alignment Matrix to identify alignment opportunities.
We later found that some organizations also used it as a senior
management organizational performance review tool.
