Preparing
Performance Excellence Implementation Camp
This workshop
is designed to get the members of your leadership team on the same page using
the Performance Excellence Core Values and Concepts, identifying strengths and
gaps, and creating implementation action plans.
In a rapidly changing marketplace and with ever-increasing
competition in today's business environment, organizations are seeking every
opportunity to improve their business results. For more than a decade, the Core
Values and Concepts of the
Baldrige
Criteria for Performance Excellence have been a significant tool used by
thousands of organizations to assess and improve performance on the critical
factors that drive their business.
Now, these Core Values and Concepts are the basis for an
exciting new program from
WEDNet
Baldrigeindo, called the Preparing
Performance Excellence Implementation Camp. Whether your business is small
or large, involved in service or manufacturing, located down the street or
across the globe, this two-day workshop will provide you with a means of
educating your leaders on the purpose and application of the Core Values and
Concepts. And, a significant outcome of the program is a self-assessment that
allows you to confirm strengths and to identify and prioritize targeted
opportunities for improvement in such key areas as: Leadership & Planning,
Customers & Markets, Information & Analysis, Human Resources, and Systems &
Processes.

implemented these concepts through videos and Best Practice overviews.
Application
Development Camp
Thousands
of organizations have used the Criteria for Performance Excellence to assess and
improve performance of the critical factors that drive their business.
Writing an application is an important step toward
improving an organization’s performance. Many organizations have learned that
it’s very hard to do it without an experienced coach – and even then, a
significant time and effort investment is required.
The application process begins with a brief assessment of
the organization and its leaders. Only those who are personally committed to
pursue Performance Excellence (and not just window dressing) are accepted as
clients. The application team is identified and roles are defined. A
preliminary application action plan is jointly prepared. The Boot Camp is
adapted to meet each individual organization’s needs. Pre-work assignments
include writing the Organizational Profile.
On the first day of the Boot Camp, participants learn what
the Criteria for Performance Excellence are really asking for. Participants
then review applicable best practices and complete a number of exercises
designed to build a shared foundation for the application. The rest of the day
is spent with each category team building storyboards and completing timesaving
templates for their part of the application.
On the second day, the entire group reviews, enriches, and
integrates the storyboards and templates. Attendees then practice writing for a
higher score and better feedback. Finally, a detailed application action plan
is completed.
The third day is conducted 2 to 4 weeks later, after the
storyboard data has been collected. Participants share the enhanced storyboard
content, identify additional useful supporting information, and document any
gaps. This provides a solid foundation for writing the first draft of the
application.
Most organizations require additional support after the
workshop. Because each organization’s needs, capabilities, and time constraints
are unique, these support services are mutually decided and agreed upon after
the Boot Camp. The services may include ongoing coaching, application draft
review and feedback, editing, and site visit preparation.
